Starting on the 18th of April, Lifeline Canberra will be running our second-ever completely virtual Lock Up Your Boss campaign. Following on the heels of our extremely successful 2017 campaign which raised a huge amount, we’re aiming for bigger and better – and this means more bosses behind bars!
We’d love if you turned yourself in for the good of the community, but if you’re an employee and you want to dob your boss in to us, please do so; you’ll be a local hero!
If you’re worried about languishing in the slammer, waiting for your staff to show up with the envelope, have no fear; bosses will be locked up in an entirely ‘virtual’ prison. Staff have until 8th of June to raise bail money to break them out.
The bail money will be going to support Lifeline Canberra’s invaluable 13 11 14 crisis support line. We’re looking to smash our 2017 amount out of the water this year, so we’ll be throwing in an added bonus – the top 15 fundraisers will be invited to attend a lunch with Dr. Brendan Nelson on the 15th of June, 2018. Who said crime doesn’t pay?
In Canberra, we lose one person every week to suicide. Lifeline Canberra fights to save those in our communities who are battling depression and suicidal thoughts, and offers support to help people change their lives for the better. But doing that requires time and money. In fact, every potentially life-saving call we answer costs $26.00. To continue our efforts, we rely heavily on community support — and a large portion of that comes from fundraising events and activities involving dedicated people like you. The money raised for Lifeline Canberra through the Lock Up Your Boss campaign really does save lives every single day and for that we cannot thank you enough.
